My Story
I’ve always enjoyed spending time with children and animals. I naturally took to children more than I ever did with adults. I really enjoy their honesty, their optimism, and they’re just so fun! (and easily entertained!). My mom used to babysit for extra income and I thought she was so lucky to stay home with the kids while I had to go off to school. For an undiagnosed child with ADHD in the 70’s, school was NOT my jam, so to say.
Career wise, all I wanted to do was be an actress. I wanted to pursue an acting career so badly yet I didn’t have anyone to guide or encourage me, so I just sat back and watched my dreams never come to fruition because I HAD NO CLUE how to make that happen! Guidance counselors, along with my parents, suggested I go straight into the workforce. I dabbled around in the local theaters and after many unhappy years of office work, was hired to perform in a full-time acting troupe at a Science Museum. Here, I got to interact WITH children during my shows! I was so happy!
The Journey Continues
I eventually moved to NYC, raised a family and found a nature center that I enjoyed visiting. They hired me as an educator and before I knew it, I was teaching the 2-4 year olds about all things I love about nature! I am blessed to be able to teach these children in such creative and fun ways that feeds my soul every day. After years of support from the families who attend my classes, I have finally found the people who do encourage and support me in pursuing my dreams of creating a YouTube channel so I can continue teaching my darlings with love, friendship, and humor.
